Winter Coaching

60 minute evaluation session - £30.

This session will evaluate all aspects of your game, from swing technique, SkyTrak data and statistical analysis of your performances and will allow us to work together to build a plan of improvement to implement over the winter months.

2 x Monthly 1 Hour Coaching Sessions per month - £75 per month (6 month programme).

These sessions will maximise your opportunities to play better golf for 2019, and will provide you with the following:

SkyTrak data from each session.

A personalised practice plan to allow you to implement the required improvements in your own time at your own pace Video feedback from each session Unlimited feedback via email in between sessions.

The opportunity to add a 9 hole playing lesson for a reduced rate of £35 during the course of your programme.

1 x Monthly 1 Hour Coaching Session per month - £40 per month (6 month programme).

Hatton crumbles

It was back to the daily grind for Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes, with Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood both in action at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Hatton led in the final round by four strokes heading into the back nine, but a remarkable collapse involving four bogies saw him card a level par 72, allowing Denmark’s Lucas Bjerregarrd to steal victory at St Andrews. Fleetwood shared second with Hatton as a final day 69 left him on 14 under, one stroke behind Bjerregarrd. This week the tour heads to Walton Heath with Justin Rose playing host at the British Masters.

Rule changes

As 2019 comes ever closer, so too do the new Rules of Golf which are to be implemented on 1st January 2019. The changes being made are intended to modernise the game, one of which is the dropping procedure. Drops will no longer have to be made from shoulder height – instead, golfers will be able to drop from knee height when taking relief to simplify the dropping process and speed up play.

The good old days

Sometimes it's nice to reminisce about the good times. When it comes to golf, the days of persimmon woods, small clubheads and hitting balls which were hard as a rock are long gone - but it can help to take a trip down memory lane to remind us of just how much technology has developed, particularly in the case of drivers.

Time tunnel

Take Lynx for example; you might have been lucky enough to own its revolutionary Predator II driver way back in 2004. A relatively tiny 380cc clubhead meant the Predator II was possibly one of the most intimidating clubs on the market - which made it even sweeter when you crushed one right down the middle.

Fast-forward to the present day, and Lynx has released its most technologically advanced driver to date in the form of #BB. It features a forgiving 460cc headshape, as well as sliding 3g weights which can be adjusted to help you find your ideal ball flight.

So, whilst it is nice to think about your first ever driver, it's probably time to get up to speed with the latest models such as the #BB. Who knows? Maybe in another 10 years time, you'll be looking back on the #BB with as much fondness as the Predator II!

How times have changed

Remember when you used to get ready for a round of golf during winter - you'd put on your vest, followed by a turtleneck, followed by a polo, then a jumper, before finally putting on your jacket. Not only was it a complete pain in terms of trying to stay warm without overheating, but it also made swinging the club near impossible - not a great combination if you wanted to enjoy your 18 holes.

Luckily, we've come a long way since then and we're now able to wear golf-specific garments which are not only comfortable, but also designed to keep your movement as natural as possible. So, instead of donning 5 or 6 layers during your round of golf, all you'll need is three.

Over your polo, we'd recommend wearing a pullover like this ProQuip Merino Lined jumper. Its Italian Merino Wool helps you stay comfortable throughout your whole round, whilst ProQuip's pioneering water repellent feature means you'll be well protected from the cold, wind and rain.
