A wood fitting for a member On Monday the 10th I did a wood fitting for one of our members. He was looking for a club that would go 230-240 yards off the tee and be reasonably straight. Shaft 1 was too light for him and we could see this as the Spin Rate increased more and more throughout testing as did Peak height. Shaft 2 which agreed on was the shaft which I currently playing which is the Even-flow Black 85 Gram in 6.0 Flex. This is a low launch low spin shaft with added weight at the bottom for increased stiffness in the Tip section and weight in the butt of the club to provide an energy transfer in the midsection to increase club head speed and Ball speed which we saw in our clients fitting. This shaft is an After-market shaft however this is a shaft we can get in for no additional charge should any of our Clients end up being fitted for it. We also ended up agreeing that the customer preferred the shape of the 5 wood head to a hybrid and performance also showed that we also talked about how the shaft felt as 85gram for a 5 wood is fairly heavy which he said he actually preferred the extra weight and this helped him with Dispersion, Height and Distance as proven in the Data. Here is some of the Data below from shaft 2 I have left in some bad shots in the data. The reason for this is because every golfer hits bad shots and it was interesting to see how the club was performing and if there was a major loss in distance or dispersion which would affect our client on the course. Any major shots which affect the averages when we go through the figures we would then take them out after showing you the results with those figures left in. |
