No Turkish delight for Pepperell Eddie Pepperell had a Saturday to forget at the Turkish Airlines Open after getting himself disqualified in bizarre fashion. Playing the 4th (a par-5 with water that lurked close to the green), Pepperell proceeded to dunk numerous balls into the drink much to the dismay of playing partners Martin Kaymer and George Coetzee. After notifying his playing partners that he had run out of balls, Pepperell walked off the course and fell foul of rule 3.3c which states a player must hole out at each hole in a round. Once the dust had settled, it was left to Tyrrell Hatton to clean up in a thrilling six-way playoff which had the unique distinction of being settled under floodlights. |
